Timeless Albums

The easiest way to store a lifetime of photos and videos is to organize them in a reverse chronology from newest to oldest. This way you don't have to deal with issues of where to store the family vacation - does it go under Family? Vacations? Beaches?That's why this is the default way that Phanfare works.
But there may be times when you want to post some albums that aren't tied to a specific date. Perhaps you have an album of your favorite landscapes or flower pictures.
Phanfare refers to albums without dates as Timeless Albums. Your Phanfare site can contain any combination of timeless and dated albums. Timeless albums are always presented before dated albums in both the desktop application and on your Phanfare site.
Currently you can only create Timeless Albums in the Windows and Mac Phanfare desktop application. They will appear in the MyPhanfare browser-based management tool as dated albums.

If you use Microsoft Windows
Creating Timeless Albums
The easiest way to create a timeless album is to click on the Create a new Timeless album in the album listing pane.
You can also click on the Create New Album button on the toolbar and changing the Album Date option to Don't date the album (it will appear under 'Timeless').
You can also move any album to the timeless section by right-clicking on the album name in the Album List pane and choosing Organize in Timeless.
Reordering Timeless Albums
By default, timeless albums are sorted alphabetically. You can rearrange them by dragging and dropping the album names in the Album List pane.
You can also re-sort the list by right-clicking on the Timeless heading and choosing Sort by Name.
Renaming the Timeless Album Group
To give the timeless group a different name, choose Website Options from the Share menu. Click on the Album Dates tab and change the text in the Dateless albums section.
NOTE: When the section maintains its default name, 'TIMELESS', the word ALBUMS is appended to its name on your Phanfare site. So the section displays as TIMELESS ALBUMS. However, when you change the section's name, the term 'ALBUMS' isn't added.
If you use a Mac
Creating Timeless Albums
To create a timeless album, select Album Options and choose the General tab. Then, click the Do not date the album (it will appear under "TIMELESS") option. Click OK. A new section called TIMELESS will appear in your Album list.
Once you have at least one timeless album, you can also click the Add Album button below the Timeless label to create new timeless albums.
