The big picture: How Phanfare organizes your photos

From Phanfare Support

Phanfare takes a chronological approach to organizing your photos. Each album is assigned a date or range of dates. Albums from within the same year are shown on the same table of contents page.

To move an album from one year to another, you change the album date to that year.

You can control whether the most recent or oldest album is shown first within each year and you can control what month is considered to be the first month of the year.

On the website, years are organized across the top of the page. For example, this is crop from the sample Phanfare album:

Within Phanfare Photo, years are shown vertically on the left pane.

Why a Chronological Approach?

A Chronological approach to albums is modeled after the way physical albums are kept, with installments made over time. Only a chronological approach scales over time. The most recent year is always showcased on your front page and previous years are pushed back, still available to be viewed but not featured at the front.
