Sharing links to your Phanfare site and albums

From Phanfare Support

The easiest way to share your albums and your Phanfare site is to send your friends an invitation from within the Phanfare desktop application. But sometimes you just want to grab the web address for an album and send it around in your own email or embed it in a web page.

If your site or albums are password protected and you want your visitors to enter the password when they click the link, then simply copy the link from your browser and use that. However, the Phanfare desktop application can generate a link for you that embeds an obfuscated version of your password so visitors don't have to enter the password. Why would you set a password and not require that visitors enter it? Because this makes it easy for the people who you want to visit the album to be able to see it. But it places a gate in front of anyone who stumbles across your site or album.

The linking function is currently only available in the Windows version of the Phanfare desktop application.

Linking to your site

  1. Click on the Share menu and select Link... and To Your Website.
  2. Choose Copy Link to Clipboard.
  3. Paste the link into an email message, document, or wherever you want to use it.
