Phanfare makes it easy to get your full-sized images and videos back out of Phanfare.

Retrieving images and video via the Web

Note: To retrieve full-size photos and videos from the Web, you must not be preventing photo printing and full-size downloads.

Download a single image

  1. Visit your Phanfare web site at yourusername.phanfare.com.
  2. Click on an album and then click on an individual image.
  3. Click the "Download Hi-Res" link on the options menu to the right of or superimposed on top of the photo or video.

Download an entire album

1. Visit your Phanfare web site at yourusername.phanfare.com.

2. Click on an album and then click on an individual image.

3. Click the "Download Album" link on the options menu to the right of or superimposed on top of the photo or video.

4. Now you can configure your download options.

  • Hi-Res Images: Choose this to download the full-size image. If web-size versions of the image are all you need, you can deselect this option and the download will be much faster.
  • Include Videos: If you deselect this option, the download will include a still picture of the first frame of the video instead of the video itself. It can make for a much smaller and faster download.
  • All Album Sections: This option only appears if your album has multiple sections. If you only want to download the photos and videos from the current section, deselect this option.

Note: Download Album will only download photos that aren't marked as Hidden in the Phanfare client. If you want to download all photos and videos including hidden items, use the Export Album feature in the Phanfare client. See below.

Retrieving images and video via Phanfare client

If you use Microsoft Windows

Retrieving a single image

  1. Select an album.
  2. Right-click on the photo or video you want to retrieve. Choose the "Export Image" option, and then choose full size or web size. (Full size is the original image, web size is a smaller version. Full size images are better for printing.) Export Image is also available on the File menu.
  3. Choose a place to save the file.

Retrieving an entire album

1. Right-click on an album name and select Export Entire Album. Export Album is also available from the File menu.

2. If the album contains sections, select the sections that you want to export.

3. Choose the size of images that you want to download. Hi-res (if available) is the original file. Websize and thumbnail are smaller versions.

4. You can choose to download videos as videos or to download a still photo of the first frame, or not to download videos at all.

5. Choose a place to save the file.

If you use a Mac

Retrieving a single image

  1. Select an album.
  2. Select a photo or video.
  3. Select the "File -> Export Files" menu and then choose full size or web size. (Full size is the original image, web size is a smaller version. Full size images are better for printing.)
  4. Choose a place to save the file.

Retrieving an entire album

  1. Select an album.
  2. Select the "File -> Export Album…".
  3. Choose FileExport or iPodExport. FileExport gives you more flexibility in the export. iPodExport places the photos in a folder that iTunes will use to sync to your iPod. The iPodExport does not export videos.
  4. Click Export.

Exported Image Size: You can export your full-size original photo, a smaller, web-size version (700 pixels on its longest dimension) or the even-smaller thumbnail.

Include videos as: If your album has videos, this option will be available. You can export your original videos, or a still image of the first frame of the video, or you can exclude videos from the export.

Export location: Choose where you'd like the exported items to be stored.
