Slideshow Music
Import music directly from iTunes to play during your slideshows! Learn more about this feature at the Adding music to a slideshow help page.
Tweak Album Security
Want users to be able to download your hi-res images but not order prints? Or maybe order prints but not view EXIF? You can now configure all three choices separately in the album security dialog. Make sure to set your defaults in the website options/security tab!
Better iPhoto Caption Support
iPhoto importer not picking up your captions? There is now a new tab under the Preferences dialog that lets you choose which field it will extract from your iPhoto library.
Improved Limits
You can now add up to 500 images to a section, and 3000 images total to an album.
Fixes
Almost all known crashes/weird behavior has been fixed. There are still a few lurking in the code, but in this release stability has improved significantly. If you notice any trouble, please don't hesitate to contact us at support@phanfare.com!
  • June 27, 2006
Album Sections
You can now add subsections to your albums! In the album you want to add sections to, select 'New Section in Album' from the File menu or right click on the album and select 'Add Section'. You can edit the section title and description by clicking on the header in the thumbnail view.
Choose your Invite Picture
Album and website invitations now use the album lead image that you define as the image shown in the e-mail message. No more guessing on what's sent!
  • May 27, 2006
Massive Stability Improvements
Phanfare Photo should no longer crash when your computer loses internet access or goes into standby mode.
Hide on the Website
You can now hide images from being shown on the website ('shoebox' them) by selecting the image and using opt-v to toggle. You can also use the Images/Videos menu to do the same. It even works if you have multiple selected!
iPod Export
Got one of those nifty iPods with a color screen? Now you can take your Phanfare albums with you! Select the album you want to show up on your iPod and select File->Export to iPod to bring up a dialog with more information on how to set it up.
Misc Fixes
Thanks to all your feedback a lot of small bugs and behavior issues have been fixed.
  • January 27, 2006
Intel Compatibility
The Phanfare client now fully supports the new Intel iMacs and PowerBooks. Since this is still new territory, please let us know if you experience any issues running on the new platform.
Slideshow Music and Controls
You can now select music for your slideshow as well as control whether or not the slideshow's zooming and panning effects are enabled on an album by album basis. Look for the slideshow tab in the Album Options dialog.
You can also choose the default music and effects settings for all new albums in the Slideshow tab of the Website Options screen.
iPhoto Import Fix
iPhoto import has been fixed.
  • January 13, 2006
Statistics
Accessed from under the Share menu, this nifty tool will show the status of your invites (has someone opened them, or have they clicked them), as well as both website and album hit counters.
Invitation Previews
There is a new tab on the invite wizard that will allow you to preview your message (both the HTML and text versions). Just run through the wizard like normal and at the end you'll be able to review your invite before sending.

Table of Contents Customization
You can now specify which images will be shown on your table of contents. To show an image next to the album name, select the image and pick Table of Contents->Show Next to Album from either the main Image/Video menu or the image right click menu. To add an image to the list of large images on the right side, select Show as Large Image from the same menu. Images added like this are customizable in the Website Options/Table of Contents tab, check it out! You can also tweak the new pagination option on this tab as well by selecting the number of rows per page or disabling it entirely.
Image Transforms
Crop, redeye reduction, brightness/contrast adjustment, and a host of other image operations ranging from grayscale to sepia have been added. You can access them by going to the image detail view and either using the toolbar or the new ‘Image/Video’ menu. A neat trick is to select multiple images in the thumbnails view and choose an operation from the Image/Video menu – try it with Auto Levels!
Zoom
Use the slider in the bottom left of the image editor to zoom in on an image. This can help with making sure your crops are just right, or finding some red eyes to fix. Also, while zoomed, you can click and hold your mouse to move around. Note that some of the behavior here is a little rough, and it will be fixed in the next release.
iPhoto Importer
You can now import your iPhoto albums! To do so, start Phanfare Photo and select ‘Import from iPhoto’ from the File menu. Phanfare will then present you with a dialog that lets you pick the albums you can import. Once you are done click then ‘Import’ button and Phanfare Photo will do its magic.
Note that this only works on entire images and not individual images in your Library. To import individual images, you can either browse for them or drag and drop directly from iPhoto into Phanfare Photo. Future versions will include the ability to import images by tag (for example, ‘import all images with the tags Vacation and Family).
Improved Styles Chooser
You can now search styles by category as well as by inputing your own search term. When the style chooser appears, simply start typing in the box in the upper right of the window. For example, if you want to find all the styles that contain the word 'green', type 'green' and watch the list filter down to your selection.
Image Export
You can now export images from within Phanfare Photo. This allows you to recover accidentally deleted images or, if you are running Phanfare Photo on another computer, move the images over. Note that it may take a short while on Full Size exports for the file to appear, as it must be downloaded.
Billing Information
Interested in seeing your billing information? Choose ‘Account Information’ from the primary ‘Phanfare Photo’ menu and click the ‘Billing’ tab. You can change your credit card and billing address, as well as see when you are billed up until.
Automatic Updater
From this update on, all future updates will happen automatically. This means that we will be able to release more versions with features and bug fixes more often without any inconvenience to you!
Bug Fixes
This release includes a lot of fixes for various bugs and crashes that have occurred. Rest assured that we look over all automatically submitted reports and come up with fixes. If you’ve had trouble in the past, chances are it’s been fixed.
