Lifetime memberships

From Phanfare Support

Phanfare offers a lifetime membership option for $299.95 that provides use of the Phanfare system throughout your entire life. Here are some of the benefits of the lifetime program:

  • Pay once, don't worry about payment again.
  • Protection against future price increases.
  • Phanfare will provide you with a DVD replacement of your photos and video if you ever need it (one time, at no cost).
  • Access to your fullsize photos and videos from any computer.
  • Access to your photos and videos as you upgrade from computer to computer throughout your life.
  • Entitlement to all upgrades to the core Phanfare service.

Upgrading existing accounts

If you would like to upgrade your existing Phanfare account to a lifetime membership, please email support@phanfare.com. Your current period payment ($54.95 or $6.95) will be credited toward your lifetime subscription.

The fine print

Our terms of service (http://www.phanfare.com/tos.aspx#lifetime_service_plan) has the full conditions of the offer but here are the major points. You should read them.

  • If you violate our terms of service, we will still cancel your account.
  • We hold the right to buy out lifetime members at their original purchase price and return their photos and videos. It is not our plan to exercise that right, but in the event that our business goes in a different direction than we planned, or we are acquired by a company that is not interested in our lifetime membership program, it protects you. Buying out your account is our obligation if we want to end the program.
  • If Phanfare goes out of business, the subscription ends. This is not our plan, but you never know. In such an event, we would work very hard to return photos and videos to everyone.
  • We are hoping to eventually offer a perpetual level of service (immortality on the web) but until that time, we need some way of determining that an account is "dormant." If there is no access for five years, we consider an account (and possibly you) dormant.
