Finding photos and videos on your computer

From Phanfare Support

With some cameras it may not be clear where your photos and videos are stored on your computer. The first step of the import process is often to find them so that you can import them into Phanfare Photo.

If you use Microsoft Windows

In Microsoft Windows, the most common place for your pictures and videos to be stored is your "My Pictures" folder. There are several ways to find this folder:

  1. Open Windows Explorer and look in your "My Documents" folder. "My Pictures" should be within it.
  2. Click the "Start" menu button and look for the link to "My Pictures".
  3. Select the "Import photos and video" menu. Click the "My Documents" button on the left side of the dialog box. Open the "My Pictures" folder.

If you use a Mac

  1. If you've created albums in iPhoto, open iPhoto and drag photos directly into your Phanfare albums.
  2. Using the Finder, open the "Pictures" folder, and drag images directly to your Phanfare albums.
  3. Open Spotlight, and search for "jpg" or "mov" any other common multimedia file format. Click "Show all" and then click the "More" link under the "Images" or "Movies" tabs.
