File size and bandwidth limits

We limit full-size images to 20MB. 20MB was chosen because no point and shoot or digital SLR camera creates jpeg images that are greater then 20MB. We anticipate raising this limit from time to time as camera resolution increases.

There is no limit on the number of images you may have.

Video

We limit each movie clip to ten minutes in length. A movie clip must also be less than 2GB, although practically speaking, there are no non-HD video cameras or still cameras in production today that will produce a 10 min clip in excess of 2GB. (Read technical details on video limits.)

As with still images, we will periodically adjust the limit upward to accomodate changing camera technology.

Bandwidth

The monthly bandwidth limit is 10GB of upstream bandwidth, 15GB of downstream bandwidth. We will change this limit from time to time as we monitor real system usage. New members will not be penalized if they exceed this limit in the first month when they are uploading all of their albums for the first time.
