Creating album sections

From Phanfare Support

Album sections provide a great way to present several related events within a single album. For instance, in an album for one of your vacations, you might create a different section for each day or each place that you visited.

You can create album sections under any new or existing album. There is no limit on the number of album sections you can create. Each album section is limited to 500 photos and each album is limited to 3,000 photos overall.

If you use Microsoft Windows

To use album sections, you must first create a new album or select an existing album in the Phanfare organizer.

You can create new section that’s empty and then fill it up with photos and videos, or you can create a new section from photos and videos that are already in the album.

Create an empty section: Select Create album section from the top navigation bar (as shown below).

Create a section from current photos and videos: Select some existing images in the album that you want to move to the new section. Go to the File menu and choose New Section from Selection.

When you create a section, the first section is automatically labeled the Main Section and the second section is labeled the New Section (as shown below). Each section you subsequently add to this album will be labeled New Section as well. To change the names of the sections, simply highlight it and right-click and select Rename Main Section or Rename New Section.

As shown above, you can enter a description for the overall album and for each specific section. To add photos or videos to any section, highlight it on the left side and click the Add Images/Video button on the toolbar or drag and drop the photos into Phanfare. To reorder a section, highlight the section title you want to move and drag and drop it into the appropriate place in the album listing.

By default, Phanfare will display the first photo in the section next to the section title on the website. However, you can choose which photo is displayed there by right-clicking the photo within the Phanfare desktop application, selecting Show in Table of Contents and then Section Lead Image.
