Adding photos and video to an album

There are two basic ways to get images and videos into a Phanfare album: drag-and-drop them or use the menu commands.

Drag and drop an entire folder

1. Using Windows Explorer, find the folder on your computer that contains the photos and videos that you wish to add.
2. Drag the folder on top of the Create new album in year entry in the Albums list and release the mouse button. A new album will be created using the folder name as the album name. It doesn't matter what year you drag folder to. Once Phanfare has read all the images, it will automatically adjust the album dates.

NOTE: If the Windows Explorer window and Phanfare window overlap each other so that you can't see both at once, drag the folder from Windows Explorer down to the Phanfare icon in the taskbar. This will cause Phanfare to come to the foreground. Now drop the folder on top of the Create new album in year entry.

Drag and drop select images

1. Create a new album or select an existing album from the left-hand album list.
2. Using Windows Explorer, find the folder on your computer that contains the photos and videos that you wish to add.
3. Highlight the file or files you wish to add and drag them into the main window of the Phanfare Photo application. (Highlight multiple files at once by holding down the ctrl key or dragging the mouse across multiple images.)
4. A thumbnail of the photos and videos will appear in the album. You can add as many as you want at once.

Using the menu commands

1. Press the "Add Images/Video" button in the tool bar, or select the "File -> Import Images and Videos..." menu.
2. In the dialog that appears, find the folder that contains your photos and videos.
3. Highlight one or more files that you wish to add. (Highlight multiple files by holding down the ctrl key or dragging the mouse across multiple images Select all images and videos in a folder by clicking on any file and pressing Ctrl-A .)
4. Press the "Open" button.

If you use a Mac

1. Create a new album or select an existing album from the left-hand album list.
2. Using the Finder, locate the folder on your computer that contains the photos and videos you wish to add. (Alternatively: open iPhoto and find the photos you wish you add.)
3. Highlight the file or files you wish to add and drag them into the main window of the Phanfare Photo application. (Highlight multiple files at once by holding down the command key.)
4. A thumbnail of the photos and videos will appear in the album. You can add as many as you want at once.

Using the menu commands

1. Press the "Import" button in the tool bar, or select the "File -> Import Files..." menu.
2. In the dialog that appears, find the folder that contains your photos and videos.
3. Highlight one or more files that you wish to add. (Highlight multiple images by holding down the command key.)
4. Press the "Open" button.
